Not far from where I live is a center devoted to paper. This paper inspired my new work. The paper is so beautiful that I use it as if it were another medium instead of just a surface to paint on. There are many translucent layers of acrylic, gouache, sumi ink and pastels on the surface and I used metalic paints so depending on the light and where you stand the painting changes color. In bright light they shimmer.

All of the works on paper in this series will each be sold for 40.000 yen or 300 British pounds or 464 US dollars. These will be exhibited at the 0909COPY exhibit in London from September 9th 2010. For more details on the exhibit go to gihonrivercollective.com
