Growing up in Iowa in a family that never went
anywhere I had a desire to see the world which
brought me to Japan.
I married , had a baby, built a house and worked as a teacher to help support my family. I had little time for my art, but when my daughter went to high school in the USA and I started suffering from empty nest syndrome, I returned to what I love.
I lived in Japan for over twenty years. This is my wedding photo, the one and only time I have worn a Kimono.
Some of my favorite artists are Arthur Dove, Georgia O'Keefe, Helen Frankenthaler, Betty Goodwin, Marc Chagall and Noriyuki Ushijima.
